Welcome

We are pleased to invite you to attend the conference Consciousness and its Measures made up by the joint workshop for COST (European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research) actions Consciousness (BM0605) and NeuroMath (BM0601). The conference will be held on November 29 - December 1, 2009 at St . Raphael Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus.

Consciousness has moved from a topic discussed only by philosophers to a theme amenable to experimentation and imaging. The conference will bring together experts specializing in research on consciousness with colleagues at the frontier of the development of tools that allows us to see non-invasively inside the working brain. The conference will serve as a forum for discussing what the key research questions in the field of consciousness are today and what tools are available, or can be developed to effectively address these questions. The expectation is that the interaction between the experts in the two fields will foster the development of new research programs.

The conference is ideally placed in the sunny island of Cyprus where the questions about what is human nature had occupied people for millennia. We will exploit the location by organizing within the conference social events that reconstruct these ancient questions in words and music.

The conference will be followed by a three-day (December 2 - 4) optional course Foundation Themes for Advanced EEG/MEG Source Analysis: Theory and Demonstrations via Hands-on Examples. More on the course ...

We look forward to seeing you in Cyprus!
