NeuroMath Workshop

November 30 – December 1, 2009

The main objective of the NeuroMath COST action is to increase the knowledge on the mathematical methods able to estimate the cortical activity and connectivity in the human brain from non invasive neuroelectric and hemodynamic measurements. The Neuromath Workshops are a prime platform for scientific discussions on recent developments in neuroimaging and related fields, presentation of novel approaches and tools for the estimation of brain activity and connectivity, and also provide state-of-the-art review of the latest NeuroMathematical methods used in the leading European research institutions.

The current workshop, which is held jointly with the Consciousness COST action, will highlight how the methods of NeuroMath begin to unravel the final frontier of neuroscience - consciousness.

Areas of Interest:

Scientific contributions will be welcomed in the fields of

  • Electroencephalography, Magnetoencephalography, functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • Mathematical and computer models for neurons and neural tissues
  • Theory and algorithms in forward problem
  • Inverse problem and source imaging
  • Mapping techniques
  • Estimation of connectivity techniques from neuroelectric and/or hemodynamic recordings
  • Brain-Computer Interfacing (BCI)
